"Collaborative agreement" defined.
The term, collaborative agreement, as used
in this chapter, means a written agreement authored and signed by the nurse practitioner or nurse
midwife and the physician with whom the nurse practitioner or nurse midwife is collaborating. A
collaborative agreement defines or describes the agreed upon overlapping scope of advanced practice
nursing and medical functions that may be performed, consistent with § 36-9A-12 or 36-9A-13, and
contains such other information as required by the boards. A copy of each collaborative agreement
shall be maintained on file with and be approved by the boards prior to performing any of the acts
contained in the agreement.
